Chetumal is located 380 km from the city of Campeche.

Access can be made from Highway No. 186, coming from Campeche, or by Route 307, from Cancun and Tulum. Along this same route, the visitor can stop in Bacalar, one of the oldest cities in Quintana Roo, whose foundation dates from the second half of the 16th century. However, the region's greatest attraction is the famous Bacalar Lagoon, also known as the "lagoon of seven colors", where travelers will find numerous areas to camp and observe in all its majesty this wonderful work of nature.

If you are a fan of archaeological sites and like the ancient history of the Mayans, we recommend visiting Oxtankah, close to Chetumal Bay, only 16 km away from the city. Its origin dates back to the beginnings of the ancient city of Chac Temal, which gave rise to the current Chetumal, being its peak period that is between 200 and 600 AD. Their visiting hours are from Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
