History and recreation come together in this park, also called Federalism, which is located south of Mexico City, with an area of 41,575 square meters.

In the heart of the park there is a farm, now remodeled, in which Diego Rivera made what would be his last mosaic work, The mirror of the star (1956). It is a fountain decorated on its floor and slope in which it used vitreous and Venetian mosaic with Mexican marbles and onyx in different colors. Water is the central theme of the fountain that displays before our eyes the beautiful images of frogs, snails, vipers, anemones, turtles and the pre-Hispanic gods related to the precious liquid: Chalchiuhtlicue (female deity of water), Quetzalcóatl -feathered serpent - Xolotl represented as an Itzcuintli dog and symbols of Tláloc. In this work, Diego Rivera expressed, in addition to his love for Mexico, his affection and gratitude to Dolores Olmedo, his friend and protector, who was the owner of the property until 1967.

The atmosphere of this park is delicious and calm, a comforting panacea for the stresses of modern life, since it has been reforested and has picnic areas, toilets and security with closed circuit. The playground equipment, made of wood and ropes, favors children's psychomotor development. The park carries out "Ecological Exploration Days" aimed at groups and schools at all levels, from preschool to high school. The various workshops are directed by young technicians graduated from UNAM.

Thus, this cultural and ecological center promotes education and environmental awareness.
