To show that not all the Morelos farms were sugarcane, there is Ixtoluca, which since the 16th century has dedicated itself to refining the mineral extracted from the Sierra de Huautla.

Today it is in ruins, but several of its old spaces remain standing, including a large enclosure that is now roofless, crossed by large aqueduct arches where the most impressive amates in the country grow.

Next to the town, the ejidatarios who run the place have two pools, rooms, fields for camping and a restaurant.

How to get there: On the road to Valle de Vázquez, just 13 km east of Jojutla.

Hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tel. 01- (734) -347-84-19.
