This imposing park covers a protected area of ​​2,700 ha, which mostly comprise the wooded areas that are on the high ground of the caves and the source of the Amacuzac River.

In this park, in addition to the possibility of caving activities typical of the caves, you can go on field days, hiking, hiking and observing wildlife and the landscape.

The vegetation of this national park is mainly made up of lowland rainforest, which serves as a habitat for important populations of animals, such as the iguana, badger, cacomixtle, raccoon, reptiles such as the boa and rattlesnake, buzzard, quail, eagle and some felines such as the wild cat, ocelot, tigrillo and puma.
