Discover this 16th century temple, located near the town of Otumba.

On this site, possibly in the last third of the 16th century, the Franciscans founded a group of temple and convent on an old pre-Hispanic platform. The temple exhibits a doorway in the purest Plateresque style, with a lowered access arch, framed by thin columns that rise between vegetal guides and flowers above the arch. An alfiz in the shape of a Franciscan cord encloses the door, and the design is repeated in the choir window.

The interior of the enclosure is of simple forms, with its barrel vault, probably restored in the 18th century. On one side of the temple is the entrance to the convent, which was formerly the open chapel, with its central arch wider than the others. The old cloister shows the remains of simple architecture and wall paintings.
