The fruits of the sea give Veracruz food a distinctive seal. No one could doubt that the first inhabitants of this Gulf region turned to fishing as one of their main resources.

The bountiful land of the state made its gastronomic menu richer, and it was here in this port, at the entrance to the new world, where the experience of miscegenation began that gave rise, over the years, to one of the most varied and tasty meals of our country.

Internationally famous, fish a la Veracruzana is one of the dishes that the regional imagination gave to Mexico and the world. Savoring the exquisite seafood and fried fish in the port, in Boca del Río or in Alvarado, is a unique experience. Shrimp to peel, stuffed crabs, oysters, octopus, snails, they are delicacies that no one can miss, and even less if you dare to go where the best are.

To the north, near Martínez de la Torre, you will be surprised by the influence of French food rooted for years in the town of San Rafael, and to the south, in Catemaco you can enjoy fried mojarras, monkey meat and other delicacies. From one extreme to the other, in each place, in each town: El Tajín, Papantla, Orizaba, Xalapa, Tlacotalpan, Coatepec, Cempoala; On the coast, on the plain, in the mountains, it is impossible to escape the magic and the taste of the excellent Veracruz food.
