During the Colony this hacienda functioned as a cattle ranch, and it is estimated that by the 19th century it reached an area of close to 11,000 ha, where cattle were raised in general.

The exploitation of henequen began in the area towards the second half of that century. The immense property was acquired in 1864 by Don Donaciano García Rejón.

The construction includes the main house of the hacienda, with rooms, a chapel, a dining room, a kitchen, an orchard, a swimming pool, corrals, norias and the workshops in which henequen fiber was processed; There are also, at the other end of the land, the remains of the school, the ray store - now converted into a popular store - and the old infirmary.

A tour through the entire complex will allow the visitor to discover what the lifestyle was like inside these large estates, both residences and work centers. In the complex the area of what was the henequen processing plant should not fail to be seen, with the elevated chimney and the machine room.

In the central part of the building, the imposing 200-horsepower machine that generated the power and electricity necessary for daily work is kept in excellent condition and as if it were ready to work.
