Cosalá: Rich gastronomy and ghost legends

Located in the Sierra Madre Oriental, Cosalá has narrow cobbled streets and more than 250 buildings that keep centuries of history. It is a town full of life, where its rich gastronomy and its ghost legends converge.

At the beginning of the Independence of Mexico, Cosalá was considered the most prosperous town in northwestern Mexico, with more than 50 mines. Cosalá's artisan products are internationally recognized, for their improvement in the saddlery. The artisans, mainly from the neighboring community of El Rodeo, offer a large number of leather and leather goods such as saddles, piteado belts and huaraches. Another exploited product is the ixtle fiber, from which bags and hammocks are made.

Walking through the narrow streets that still preserve the original urban layout, a product of the irregularities of the terrain, is to delve into around 500 years of history.
