Always welcome at the table, gorditas are one of the most popular Mexican snacks and now you can prepare them yourself with this simple recipe.

INGREDIENTS

(Makes 24 pieces)

For white

  • 250 grams of dough for tortillas
  • ¼ potato peeled, grated, cooked and well squeezed
  • 1½ tablespoons flour
  • 1/8 of tablespoon of baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt, or to taste

For black

  • 250 grams of dough for tortillas
  • 1/3 of cup of black beans cooked and ground as puree
  • 1½ tablespoons flour
  • 1/8 of tablespoon of baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
  • corn oil for frying

PREPARATION

The dough, along with the rest of the corresponding ingredients for each one, mixes very well. Make 12 balls of each mixture the size of a walnut and make tortillas not very thin. The oil is heated very well and the gorditas are fried in it; When they sponge, they turn around for a few seconds and take them out with a stretched spoon, place them on absorbent paper to remove excess fat and serve them immediately.

PRESENTATION

They are placed in a little basket lined with an embroidered napkin and served with sauce to taste.
