Around 1571 the friars of the order of Santo Domingo founded in Puebla a convent dedicated to San Miguel.

Apparently the construction of the temple and convent lasted several years, as it is known that the temple was completed in 1659. Its façade is in a sober baroque style and its wide nave stands out inside, where you can see the low choir adorned with plasterwork and a beautiful main altar from 1688, the work of Pedro Maldonado.
