Each of the corners that shape the State of Puebla are linked, in one way or another, with the rich historical past of our country, in such a way that it would be impossible to establish which of them is the most important, after the city. state capital.

However, the quiet city of Tehuacán stands out among these “poblano corners”, famous since it began to produce the popular soft drink of the same name, as a result of the industrialization of the waters of the springs that surround it. Few people know that Tehuacan still contains many surprises for its visitors.

Without being a very large city, Tehuacán preserves in its historic center, some beautiful examples of colonial architecture, such as its Cathedral and the Temple of Carmen, where the Museum of the Valley of Tehuacan is currently installed, whose main attraction are the discovered pieces in the archaeological zone of Tehuacán, and dating from archaic times.

There, too, a study of the development of corn is shown, exemplified with tiny ears found in the El Riego and Coxcatlán caves, which date from approximately the years 5200 and 3400 BC, these samples being the ones that allowed specialists, deduce that the cultivation of this plant had started in this region approximately 5000 years ago!

Another important museum in Tehuacán is the Mineralogical Museum, erected at the initiative of Don Miguel Romero, a prestigious Mexican scientist who dedicated a large part of his life to putting together a collection of almost ten thousand mineral samples of diverse shapes, textures and colors, which now They provide us with an interesting overview of the geological history of the earth's crust of Puebla soils.

On the other hand, Tehuacán also highlights the joy and tradition of its people, always concerned with keeping alive the ancestral customs of their ancestors, thus forming a true cultural roots that identifies them.Thus, we have that in Tehuacan the famous still survive rites performed in the past, on the occasion of the "fattening of cattle", especially that of goats, which date back to colonial times and which are still taking place between dances, songs and other displays of popular rejoicing in the presence of abundant cattle , which, later, will be used for the production of various items ranging from traditional footwear to various dishes, such as the renowned mole de hips, the typical dish of Tehuacán.
