The region is one of the richest in natural beauties, with a wide variety of estuaries, channels and mangroves, where it is still possible to find some samples of aquatic fauna, including two species of lizards.

Located 206 km north of the port of Veracruz, the municipality of Tecolutla has become in recent years an important tourist destination, thanks to the economic benefits of belonging to one of the regions with the largest tourist infrastructure in the state. from Veracruz, the Costa Smeralda.

Taking into account this great responsibility, the municipal government of Tecolutla has allocated a large amount of support to train its inhabitants to transmit a sense of hospitality that invites tourists to participate in all the activities that give life to this community.

One of them is the Coco Fair, which this year will take place on February 29, March 1 and 2: This celebration will include the realization of various sporting, cultural and artistic events, the most important of which consists in the elaboration of the "largest Cocada in the world", which last year was 150 m long. long, and that in the end was distributed among all attendees.

Another of Tecolutla's attractions is its privileged location for recreational activities such as fishing, which can be done on the banks of the Tecolutla River, where there are large numbers of fish such as snapper and snook, as well as shellfish such as prawns and crabs.
