Acaponeta is a small city in the state of Nayarit, which is located 143 km north of the city of Tepic, capital of the state, following highway no. fifteen
One of its greatest attractions is undoubtedly its historic center, adorned with old mansions in a sober neoclassical style and beautiful buildings with notable French-style architecture.
In Acaponeta, one of the most important buildings is the Municipal Palace, built in 1910 with a fine neoclassical finish. This construction is topped by a huge cube where a large clock is housed.
Another place of interest in Acaponeta is the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, a complex rebuilt in the 18th century, after a local rebellion that ended up setting it on fire around 1617. The House of Culture of Acaponeta is also located on this site. Their visiting hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
