Enjoy this homemade delicacy.

Ingredients

1 kilo of ripe peaches, 1 cup of charcoal or wood ash

For the syrup

2 kilos of sugar and 1 liter of water

To end

Sugar, as necessary, and cinnamon powder to taste (optional)

PREPARATION

The water is mixed with the ash and the peeled peaches are soaked in it for two or three hours; then they are drained, washed very well with cold water, and with a sharp knife they open a little to be able to remove the bone. They are put in the syrup and boiled, they are removed from the fire and left to rest in the honey for 24 hours. Subsequently, they are boiled again until the honey is quite thick, they are allowed to cool and are carefully removed from the syrup to go placing them in a basket in a single layer, and they sunbathe for two or three days, taking care to put them in the nights. Finally, the peaches are rolled in the cinnamon sugar, flattened by hand and wrapped in china paper for storage.
