Two kilometers east of the Macroplaza this huge park is located, in what was once the Maestranza de la Fundidora Monterrey.

This place brings together different cultural, recreational, sports and business spaces in the middle of wide green areas, lakes and springs. Today the park is an architectural complex that is worth visiting. The origin of this park dates back to 1900, when the Compañía Fundidora de Fierro y Acero de Monterrey was created. This company established the first furnace in Latin America on what was then the eastern shore of the city. Its facilities - horbos, workshops, offices, warehouses and patios - covered an area of hundreds of hectares. In 1986 the company declared bankruptcy and two years later the conversion of said facilities into the Fundidora Park began, which to begin with, is conceived as the first industrial archeology site museum in Mexico. Visiting the Fundidora Park also means seeing the traces of one of the most important industries in Monterrey and in all of Mexico.

Inside the park is the Fundidora Auditorium, the Monterrey Arena and the Acero Park, which are huge forums for artistic and sporting events with capacity for tens of thousands of people. The International Business Center is also here, better known as Cintermex, famous for having an exhibition and convention center whose facilities are first class.

Nuevo León Arts Center
In the center of Fundidora Park, you will find this place that occupies two beautiful brick buildings. In one of them is the Cineteca-Fototeca that also has a video library, store-bookstore and cafeteria. On the other is the Nuevo León Art Gallery, which among other visual works houses the mural by Fermín Revueltas Allegoría de la Producción, a work done in 1934. At the top of the gallery is the Centro de las Artes Theater. In this complex, the visitor will always find a wide range of film exhibitions, visual arts exhibitions, theatrical productions, conferences and dance and music events.

Sesame Street
Fundidora Park also offers multiple options for recreational spaces. In their areas for picnics and very close to Plaza B.O.F. there is an extensive skateboard rink.

At the northeast end of the park is Plaza Sésamo, a sprawling ten-hectare theme park where the characters from this famous television series - Elmo, Beto, Enrique, Abelardo, the Cookie Monster, Lola and Pancho - are the hosts. This is one of the four Sesame Street parks in the world. Here, the visitor finds exciting mechanical games such as the tornado and the space shot, racing cars, slides, swimming pools and other water entertainment, educational and interactive games and, of course, the Count's Castle.
