The tour starts from the center of Tabasco heading to the Yucatan peninsula and the Caribbean.

On Highway 180, which has been running along the Gulf of Mexico, continues north to Xicalango and Zacatal, the latter is a port located in front of Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche. Along the coastal area of this region there are places like Frontera at the mouth of the Usumacinta and the El Miramar spa, 20 kilometers west of that port.

This road trip will cover approximately 300,000 km², a plain that covers the Yucatan peninsula, it is a limestone soil that is said to have emerged from the sea and according to the Earth's geological clock it has little time.

On highway 186, from Villahermosa we leave Palenque and Tenosique behind to take a detour on the cruise that takes us to Ciudad del Carmen, 300 kilometers from the capital of Tabasco. This highway continues north and then northwest, reaching the coast of the Gulf of Mexico in Sabancuy.

Sabancuy is a town next to an estuary of the same name, it comes from the Laguna de Terminos. On the road we continue between the estuary and the sea, heading southwest, we cross the bridge over the Puerto Real bar that leaves in Isla del Carmen, here the Mayans and Nahuas had their trading point.

Ciudad del Carmen has its 18th century parish dedicated to the Virgen del Carmen and is still a place of merchants. On the island you can enjoy the beaches of El Caracol, La Maniagua, El Playón, and Benjamín. Water sports are practiced in the Laguna de Terminos, here the rivers also flow, welcoming the fauna.

Continuing 65 kilometers after Sabancuy we find ourselves in Champotón, the place where Gonzalo Guerrero, turned Mayan chief of Chetumal, defeated the troops of Hernández de Córdova, including Bernal Díaz del Castillo, a chronicler soldier. Champotón is located at the mouth of a river of the same name.

Continuing north 14 kilometers on the road there is a detour to the ruins of Edzná, one of the most important Mayan cities of the Late Classic period. On the coast side you reach Seybaplaya and then Campeche.

In contrast we have that between Champotón and the state capital there is an area of beaches, while the north coast is occupied by marshes.
