The most special gift of nature for Boca de Pascuales are its waves, which are considered among the best tubes on the continent and undoubtedly the longest in Mexico.

They say there are waves so deep ... that daylight is not visible at the end of the roaring tunnel. That is why we chose it for our next challenge. We had received an invitation from the good Sean Farley to go "kite" to Colima, that is, in my case to learn to use the kite. I thought the offer was for one of these days, so I proposed the following week. "What? Not skinny, the wave is pulling right now, it's for this weekend, because the wind doesn't wait," said my husband, before taking his suitcases to the car.

Don't beat around the bush ...

"Atotonilco, your sky ..." The happy little tune echoed in my mind when we passed by, and that's all I remember about going before falling into the arms of Morpheus. Later, we arrived in Colima and made contact with our host Sean Farley, a native of this beautiful city. Kitesurfing is his passion, so much so that, at just 19 years old, he is a national freestyle champion (there is only one category in Mexico) and a world team champion in this sport. He is also a champion in hospitality as he welcomed us into his home. That night, after taking a good bath, we went downtown for dinner. The picnic area we went to was very busy, so we had to wait to be able to savor the delicious chicken tostadas, golden meat tacos and typical soup, hope that I assure you it was worth it. There Sean told us about how happy he is living here, the tranquility of its streets, and how much there is to see in the surroundings, but what he emphasized the most was the power of the wind and the legendary waves that make the beaches of Tecomán famous, where you can go kitesurfing at the slightest provocation.

On the waves…

The next day we woke up, ate dehydrated bananas –very delicious–, drank coffee from the region –very good– and went to Tecomán to get to Boca de Pascuales. Leaving Colima, we took highway 54 and some 40 kilometers ahead, we entered federal highway 200, which took us to Tecomán, where we could appreciate a monumental sculpture of the virtuoso Sebastián called The Tree of Life or The Lemon Tree, by 110 tons and 30 meters high. It is a tribute to the lemon producers of the region, which is known as the "Lemon Capital of the World", since in the sixties, it was the place with the largest area of cultivation of this fruit in the world. There we found the deviation towards Boca de Pascuales and we traveled approximately 12 kilometers to find, at last,

face to face with the majestic waves.

The roar of the sea, the power of his voice and a tireless messenger

Boca de Pascuales is the dream come true of any lover of surfing and kitesurfing. Here the gigantic waves burst making the sea roar as if proclaiming its power, while the wind blows hard and without rest. And it is precisely this power that attracts men and women from all over the world who come with their board under their arms, in search of extreme challenges. But these dream conditions are not recommended for beginners, since entering these waters requires total control of the kite and the board. On the contrary, the estuaries of the region are an Eden for beginners or for those who practice very extreme tricks and need water to avoid battle.

Kiteboarding, display of strength, courage and skill

Seeing me so excited about the idea of flying through the air, Sean clarified to me that although in this sport there are no rules and you only need the force of the wind to take flight over the waves, you must be very clear that the power of nature She is indomitable and the only way to get out alive when you play with her is to join her strength, follow her rhythm and know how to manage your team.
