The way to get to the main gate of the reserve is to travel 75 km along a teraceria road that starts at km 140 of the transpeninsular highway in its Ensenada - San Quintín section.

The place allows endless tours. If you want to have a real contact with this place, the most suitable are the non-motorized routes, and the alternatives can be walking, cycling or horseback, although the latter implies more logistics. If you dare, here is a list of necessary implements, but not the only ones. Compass, cartography of the area, canteen, hat, boots, comfortable clothing (light in summer and autumn and warm in winter).

As is common in our recommendations, do not forget your photo or video camera, with which you can capture unique moments and images of the nature of the Californian desert, which is unmatched in the world. These are not simple flattery, they are ecological details, as this region is one of the richest in endemisms in the world, that is, species that only breed here.

If you have never ventured into the wild or unspoiled nature and do not know how to orient yourself geographically, it is highly mandatory that you rely on local guides. For your safety, don't take any chances, nature can be enjoyed one hundred percent if we plan our trip well.

If possible, consult literature related to the area, which will allow you more enjoyment. We recommend that you consult the following articles from the Mexico Desconocido magazines. "The myth of San Pedro Martir" in number 136; "In the middle of nowhere: SPM" at number 100; and "The SPM National Park", at numbers 8, 23 and 161.
