Built around 1663, it is considered the first monastery that existed in the Real de Minas de Guanajuato.

For various reasons, the structure has undergone two reconstructions: one in 1694 and the other in 1780; the last one was sponsored by the first count of Valenciana. The facade of the temple, carved in pink quarry, is richly ornamented; It consists of two bodies, in the center of the first the doorway opens and is crowned with a semicircular arch, on both sides of the door there is a stipe and a Rococo style pilaster. In the second body, above the door, we can see the choir window that frames a niche with a semicircular arch. An octagonal dome topped by a dome was built on the transept of the nave. The temple is shaped like a Latin cross and has three other domes: that of the dressing room and those of the side chapels. Inside we find interesting altarpieces and some oil paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries.
