Cultural activities
Day 1. Friday, October 3
Mexico - Cacaxtla
Departure to the archaeological site of Cacaxtla, in the state of Tlaxcala. During our visit to this site we will see the mural paintings that were made in fresco using pigments such as Mayan blue, yellow, red, white and black, which are characterized by the use of the naturalistic human figure.
We will continue our tour to the city of Tlaxcala to see some of its buildings of extraordinary architectural value, from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries in Baroque and Churrigueresque style, such as the Government Palace, the Palace of Culture, the Juárez Palace, the Municipal Palace, the Cathedral.
Lunch in a typical restaurant in the city of Tlaxcala.
Accommodation at Hotel Hacienda Soltepec or similar (depending on availability).
Day 2. Saturday, October 4
Tour of the haciendas of Tlaxcala - Hacienda Soltepec
Appointment at Hacienda Soltepec very early to start this tour. Departure to the Tenexac farm, one of the best preserved since its origin. Nearby is another magnificent pulque farm from the same century, Santa María Xalostoc, considered one of the best restorations of this time. On the way back we will visit Hacienda Santa Bárbara. This is uninhabited preserving its huge helmet and the spirits that still roam inside.
Lunch at Hacienda Soltepec or "La Escondida", one of the most important colonial houses in the Tlaxcala valley where a succulent meal with gastronomic dishes from the region awaits us.
Day 3. Sunday, October 5
Tlaxcala - Mexico
Breakfast at the hotel
In the morning visit to the Puppet Museum in Huamantla, and tour of the town.
Lunch at the hotel
Departure back to Mexico City.
