CACAHOATAN
July 25. Festivity of Santiago Apóstol. The town's lieutenants gallop on horseback at the festival.
COMMITTEE OF DOMÍNGUEZ
February 11th. San Caralampio is celebrated, with dances of Demons and fair. November 1 and 2. Celebration of the dead, with offerings and music.
CHIAPA DE CORZO
January 18-22. Feast of San Sebastián and popular fair. It is celebrated with Parachicos dances, a parade of floats and a "naval combat".
PALENQUE
Aug 4. Feast of Santo Domingo de Guzmán. Popular fair and fireworks.
SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS
There are festivities during nine of the twelve months of the year, in the different neighborhoods of the city, dedicated to the virgins or to the patron saints of the tutelary temples. The most important are April 1, which commemorates the anniversary of the founding of the city, and July 25, which is the titular festival of San Cristóbal.
SAN JUAN CHAMULA
June 24. Feast of San Juan Bautista. It starts two days before with processions and a fair. Dances are occasionally done.
TAPACHULA
August 28. Feast of San Agustín. It lasts seven days with a great fair.
TUXTLA GUTIERREZ
April 25. Fiesta de San Marcos, which lasts five days with a fair, processions and fireworks.
ZINACANTAN
Throughout nine months there are important celebrations in this community, highlighting the one on January 20, which is the feast of San Sebastián, which is celebrated with processions of indigenous people in costume and a fair.
The most important mobile parties can be witnessed in the following towns: Carnival is very colorful and joyous in places like Amatenango del Valle, San Cristóbal de las Casas, San Juan Chamula, Larráinzar and Zinacantán. Holy Week finds its best expressions in places like Ángel Albino Corzo, San Juan Chamula, Simojovel de Allende and Zinacantán.
