Located on the Pacific coast, this port is one of the darlings of tourism (both national and foreign) due to the charm of its bay and the magic of its dynamic nightlife.

The most famous beach destination in Mexico for decades is home to one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Famous for its sunsets and dynamic nightlife, Acapulco offers a great tourist infrastructure, equipped with hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, spas and golf courses.

It also offers the possibility of practicing various water sports (with its great waves) and getting to know traditional spaces such as La Quebrada.

Beaches

Depending on the swell, the beaches of Acapulco offer different amenities. In the Golden Zone of the Costera Miguel Alemán is Playa La Condesa, youthful and perfect for practicing sports such as skiing, jetsky and bungy jumping. Nearby is Icacos Beach, the longest in Acapulco, where the CiCi water park is located. For those looking to relax, Playas Hornos and Hornitos (opposite Papagayo Park) are ideal; while in Pie de la Cuesta you can relax in a hammock to admire sunsets. If you're looking for good waves to surf, then head to Revolcadero (in Barra Vieja), while Puerto Marqués is quiet and has excellent restaurants.

Sports

In Acapulco you can practice a wide number of water sports such as jetsky, skiing, parachuting, among others. There are also options for the more adventurous such as Paramotor (fly over the sea), diving, kitesurfing, bungy, jet skis and some land sports. For those who like golf, Acapulco has magnificent courses that offer exclusivity and beautiful landscapes.

Waterparks

In El Rollo there are several games, pools and slides and you can swim with dolphins. The CiCi Acapulco Mágico has attractions perfect for the little ones, but also for adventurous adults such as the Sky Coaster (a mea swing), the bungy and swimming with dolphins. The Papagayo Park, on Miguel Alemán Avenue, is a wide ecological and recreational reserve; there are rides, artificial lake, go-kart track, among other amenities.

Another place that children will love is the Botanical Garden, a space where they can observe different types of plants and fauna.

The Quebrada

In the area known as traditional Acapulco (where the Caleta and Caletilla beaches are also located) is this original place, a recurring scene in Mexican films. Here you will be able to see the divers show, where brave people "throw themselves" from a rock outcropping 35 meters high. You can dine while you watch the show.

Leaving La Quebrada, heading to the Costera, stop to observe the exterior wall of the Casa de los Vientos, owned by Dolores Olmedo, which has a beautiful mural created by Diego Rivera who lived there the last years of his life.

Shopping and nightlife

In Playa Diamante is the La Isla shopping center, which has luxury boutiques, restaurants and cafes in a pleasant open space.

Acapulco's nightlife is one of the best in the country, due to its wide range of bars and clubs. From the traditional Charlie's and the Zydeco Bar, to the Copacabana where you can dance to tropical rhythms. Some of the most famous clubs are Classico, Baby'O, Palladium and El Alebrije. Another reason why Acapulco has taken on a new verve is that it has positioned itself as a gay friendly destination, with places like Cabaretito Beach, with shows; the Demas Factory, with a strip show; the Pink, with electronic music; and the Prince, aimed primarily at men.

Museums and temples

Although Acapulco is not famous for its museum sites, it does have interesting cultural spaces. One of them is the Acapulco Fort San Diego History Museum, a 17th century construction designed to defend the port from pirate attacks and which today exhibits religious objects and everyday use. Also visit the House of the Mask, with a collection of about a thousand pieces.

On the other hand, the Cathedral of Acapulco, dedicated to Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, is a great example of Arab, Spanish and native influences.

Lagoons

Near Acapulco you can enjoy beautiful aquatic landscapes. The Tres Palos Lagoon It is surrounded by mangroves, where wild birds live. For its part, Coyuca Lagoon it has a paradisiacal beauty, with a variety of flora and fauna. Here you can take boat rides to discover islets and numerous species of birds.

Archaeological zones

Two interesting pre-Columbian landscapes await you near Acapulco. Single Palm (in El Veladero National Park) has a set of petroglyphs of human figures in various attitudes; Y Tehuacalco (Chilpancingo de los Bravos), has three main buildings and a ball court.
