A woman with soft features, subdued colors and calm movements, Estela Hussong was born in Ensenada in the 1950s.

She spent her childhood surrounded by nature, drawing, until she was seventeen, when she went to Guadalajara to study psychology. At twenty-three, in Mexico City he began to paint and feel the imperative urge to capture his reality. He studied for five years at the National School of Plastic Arts, and had his first exhibition, of many later, in the year seventy-nine.

Later, he returned to his homeland, where he felt in his element, and from there he obtained the necessary inspiration to make most of his paintings.

For her, the search for herself in the everyday things around her, like a petal, a dry leaf, causes her suffering. But as he finds himself in them, he experiences the joy of being: “it is losing you and finding yourself; It is a process, it is difficult moments, periods, it is something painful and joyful. For me, painting is a path of loneliness, of encounters and misunderstandings ”.

Estela Hussong undertakes in each painting a visual experience that introduces her to her own world.

For her, everyone is born with sensitivity, and as between clouds or gauze that are opening, each one begins to see little by little their inclinations for this or that activity.

He says of one of his still lifes: “When I saw the papaya, it was irresistible not to paint it. All my emotions are accumulating and I feel every moment. That immense joy, I urgently need to capture it ”.

Painter of landscapes and interiors, for Josué Ramírez her line and color are situated almost inevitably in the course of a tradition that we can delineate between the tension of María Izquierdo and the personalized symbolism of Frida Kahlo, although the compositional distribution of her objects bodies recalls pre-Columbian codices, as well as a fortunate fusion of two experiences with color: Rufino Tamayo and Francisco Toledo, and the tree-dwelling obsession of one of their contemporaries, Magali Lara.

His vision, being subjective, breaks with the propagation of empty images; The force that the flower radiates, both in nature and in the plastic work of this desert-dwelling woman, underlines the momentary triumph of life over death.
