San Miguel de Allende, León, Valle de Santiago, Celaya and the city of Guanajuato are five of the destinations that you should visit if you are in this state.

GUANAJUATO

Formally founded in 1557, Guanajuato has been the scene of vital events in the history of Mexico and today it is a mecca for tourism. Colonial and nineteenth-century buildings alternate in a city that preserves the old and capricious outline of its streets, a true labyrinth for the new visitor. Its Collegiate Basilica, the temples of the Compañía de Jesús, La Valenciana and San Diego; the Juárez Theater, the Alhóndiga de Granaditas and the staircase façade of the University, express an architectural impetus of several centuries. The Hidalgo Market, the many gardens and squares, the Pípila Monument and the Callejón del Beso become must-see sites for those who walk around the city, the only way to get to know it. All kinds of services and facilities are offered in this capital.

SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

San Miguel el Grande was called the town founded in 1524 by Fray Juan de San Miguel and renamed in 1862 with the name that there is. San Miguel de Allende is one of the cities most visited by international tourism, attracted by its crafts, its cultural life and its tranquility. The Parroquia de San Miguel, with its unusual neo-Gothic façade, is the building that most characterizes it, although there are other older and no less valuable monuments, such as the Church of San Francisco, the Oratory of San Felipe Neri and the Holy House of Loreto. The Ignacio Allende House, now the Regional Museum, and the Ignacio Ramírez Cultural Center, are spaces that we also suggest visiting. The city of San Miguel de Allende has all the services.

LION

The footwear and leather industry have made León the largest city in Guanajuato. During January, February, May and September exhibitions of these products are held. The city has its origins in the second half of the 16th century, but its most important buildings are from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Basilica Cathedral, the Temple of Our Lady of the Angels, the Municipal Presidency, the Doblado Theater, the Archeology Museum, the House of Culture and the Historical Archive of the City are spaces of historical and cultural interest. León is located 56 km from Guanajuato on Highway 45 and has all the services for tourists.

VALLE DE SANTIAGO

22 km south of Salamanca, along highway 43, is Valle de Santiago, a town located in the volcanic area of Camémbaro and founded in 1607. The city has interesting buildings such as the parish church, with a baroque façade and the 18th century Hospital Temple , but what makes the area unique are the seven surrounding volcanoes (Las Siete Luminarias), four of which have lagoons (Hoya de Flores, Rincón de Parangueo and Hoya de Cíntora). Gas station, hotel and restaurants are some services that the city offers.

CELAYA

Famous for the defeats of the Northern Division led by the army of Alvaro Obregón, in 1915, the city is also distinguished by its production and quality of cartons. The Temple of San Francisco, one of the largest in the Republic; the Temple of San Agustín, in the Plateresque style, and the Temple of Carmen, the work of the architect Tresguerras (19th century), are some of its monuments that are worth visiting. In Celaya there are multiple hotels, among other services, and the distance from Guanajuato is 109 km on highways 110 and 45.
