To the north is the city of Acaponeta, with its former Franciscan convent dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption and the famous sanctuary of Our Lady of Huajicori, a beautiful baroque style temple.

To the east of Tepic is Jala, a typical town that preserves its traditional historic center with its old houses and the lateran basilica of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, from the 19th century. Very close to here, about 7 km away, is the Villa de Ahuacatlán, whose parish dates back to the 17th century.
