In the center of the Magic Town of Tlalpujahua is this interesting baroque style temple.

This wonderful temple was built in the 18th century, probably at the request of the rich miner Don José de la Borda, who had a mine near this town. Its façade, built in strong copper-colored quarry, has the shape of a pointed arch and is Baroque in its Solomonic style, exhibiting octagonal shank columns ornamented with grooves and niches with religious images. The interior is decorated with a profusion of plasterwork with polychrome geometric and floral motifs in pastel tones. It is believed that this ornamentation with a strong popular flavor was made in the early 19th century by the master Joaquín Orta Menchaca.

Visiting hours: daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

HOW TO GET?
