Inaugurated in 1852, this building -one of the most famous in the city of Querétaro- has been the site of important historical events such as the promulgation of the Mexican Constitution.

Inaugurated under the name of Iturbide Theater, this building located in the city of Querétaro has been the seat of important historical events. It housed the court-martial that was formed by the unfortunate Emperor Maximilian of Habsburg and the Mexican generals Miramón and Mejía in June 1867. And it was the scene of the promulgation of the Mexican Constitution (on February 5) in 1917, by Don Venustiano Carranza.

Its façade is octagonal, resolved in a neoclassical style of austere proportions. It shows an access of three semicircular arches on which a second body rises with three balconies and on it a simple parapet with a balustrade as a finish. The interior decoration is austere, very much in the style of the theaters of the mid-19th century, with a certain French air.

Visit: Every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Juárez and Ángela Peralta streets, in the city of Querétaro.
