Surrounded by a magnificent landscape of mountains and with a semi-tropical climate, this temple raises its fantastic façade in the Baroque style dotted with a great popular flavor.

The enclosure, completed in 1754, shows a façade with a lowered arch, framed by two buttresses. In the first body, two pairs of fluted columns flank the Santo Domingo and San Francisco niches; the second body has two other pairs of Solomonic style columns that guard the images of San Fernando and San Roque, while in the center the Franciscan emblem of the crossed arms is observed and above it the window of the choir that emerges from a raised curtain by two angels.

The set is finished off by a spectacular image of Saint Michael the Archangel defeating the devil and above him the Holy Trinity that rises above a large globe. The façade is adorned with a complicated network of vegetable guides and mortar flowers; interesting figures can be seen on the buttresses that recall the intervention of the indigenous hand in the decoration of the enclosure. The temple preserves in its interior magnificent plasterwork and a baptismal font carved in stone.

Visit: Every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In Concá, 35 km northwest of Jalpan on highway no. 69.
