On the occasion of the December holidays, and to promote the typical artisan traditions of Mexico.

The Museum of Popular Art has organized a Mexican piñata contest, which will take place on November 17 of this year.

All artisans and artists in the country will be able to participate, as well as foreigners residing in Mexico, who must prepare an ornamental piece typical of Christmas time with the popular materials of newspaper, china paper and crepe, in addition to the indispensable pot of clay that will be the mold from which will be created what is considered the soul of the Posadas and holiday festivals.

The call will be open until November 12. The recognitions that will be delivered on the day of the decision will consist of a diploma for each of the first three places, as well as economic prizes of $ 15,000, $ 10,000 and $ 5,000, respectively.
