The Franciscan friars founded this complex around the second half of the 16th century and endowed it with an annexed convent with two levels, with columns and wooden beams.

The temple was built at the end of the 17th or early 18th centuries, judging by the architectural style of its facade, considered one of the most beautiful in the region; This one presents an admirable ornamental composition made of mortar, with which stylized stipe columns are represented surrounded by vegetable guides, flowers, cherubs, angels and sculptures of saints. Inside the temple there is a baroque altarpiece with sculptures and paintings of good quality, while in the annexed convent some artistic works of a religious nature are also preserved.
